British Beauty Festival · Greater China
A celebration of British beauty in Greater China.
British Beauty Week's first chapter beyond the UK, operated exclusively by Chrysalis.
Overview

The British Beauty Festival is the Greater China extension of British Beauty Week, the British Beauty Council's flagship celebration, run annually in the UK since 2021. Chrysalis is its exclusive operator, and the first to bring the concept beyond British shores. Our mandate is to build awareness and appetite for British beauty across Greater China — and for what makes it distinctive: science-backed innovation, a serious commitment to sustainability, a quintessentially modern British aesthetic, and deep heritage.
Where the UK festival speaks largely to the industry, ours faces the consumer. We believe that growing consumer demand for British beauty lifts the whole industry, on both sides. The Festival is a stage that convenes the British beauty world and connects it with consumers on the ground: retail debuts for brands entering the market for the first time, new-product launches for those already here, experience salons and consumer masterclasses, and British entertainment and culture throughout. In short, a real celebration of Britishness.

Three districts, one festival — with the UK as Guest Country of Honour.
Overview
The first British Beauty Festival opened across three of Shanghai's core districts over April and May 2026. Staged jointly with the Jing'an District Government and endorsed by the UK Department for Business & Trade, it named the United Kingdom Guest Country of Honour and convened 28 British brands, from first-time entrants to established names across skincare, personal care and lifestyle. An eight-day public stage at Jiu Guang on West Nanjing Road anchored the festival, extended by invitation-led VIP residencies at Lane Crawford and Bicester Village's The Apartment. Its moments ranged from the Award Gala and the BBF × WWD Beauty Forum to the viral Sloped British Garden, a first-of-its-kind installation on Nanjing Road.
